I'm on the CVS Extra Bucks Bandwagon

I've resisted it for a long time. Mostly because I didn't want to take the time to figure out how it all works. But I run across money saving bloggers everywhere who blog about their savings. So today, when I found myself at CVS picking up a few things, I decided to pick up the May Extra Value Book.

Not having a lot of time, I flipped through the book looking for 'FREE After Extra Bucks' items that I thought we would use. I ended up with 3 boxes of CVS allergy medication, a Colgate toothbrush and 3 Adidas deoderants.

When I took all my purchases to the register, I asked the kid who was ringing me up to explain "how this whole Extra Bucks thing works." He told me that Extra Bucks coupons that I could use like cash would print off at the end of my register receipt. Just like that. Not so hard after all.

So my total for the items I came in to buy plus the Extra Bucks items I picked up was $55.64 and I have $30.33 in Extra Bucks to use like cash on purchases during the next month. AND I used a $25 gift card I had for transferring a prescription to pay for part of my purchases. Now, I'm not a math wizard but $55.64 - $30.33 - $25.00 = 31 cents that I just paid for all of my items.

AND I also got a coupon for $4 off a $20 purchase for updating my email address.

I can totally see how this becomes addicting.

Now, all of you CVS masters out there, answer this for me: Can I use the Extra Bucks I just received to buy more 'FREE After Extra Bucks' items next month?

You ABSOLUTELY can! This is what we CVS addicts call "rolling" the ECBs!

The rule of CVS shopping is to only use your ECBs for items that give you more ECBs. The absolute best for a CVS addict is when you have a coupon to use on a Free after ECBs item! OVERAGE! It is very addicting! I took my ECBs and coupons on vacation with me.
