Yard Sale Finds
I had the most fun yard saling today. I had a couple hours after I dropped my son off at school...here are my finds:
Okay, this one was fun! An old window for $10. The lady who was selling it had bought it in a shop and had used it to display photos. My first thought was to have a mirror cut for behind the panes, but I may just hang it in my laundry room as-is. I kind of like its simplicity.
I also happened upon a furniture sale at a place that rents furniture. These two end tables are big and sturdy with almost no nicks or scratches. I paid $30/each and they're perfect for my finished basement. I love the detail on these; espcially the diamond design on the tops.
This table came from the same sale. While it has a few more nicks and scratches, they should clean right up with some furniture markers. I loved the shape of it and I think I could even have a piece of glass cut and make this into a shadow box table if I wanted to. Either way, at $15 the price was right.
My husband recently mentioned that we needed a garment bag for traveling. These two were 50 cents each. I love the vintage look of the plaid. I'm not sure if my husband will agree but at that price I can donate them if he hates them.
And a few other odds and ends:- A really pretty apron for $1
- A wire basket perfect for gifting goodies at Christmas for $1
- A unique decorative wreath hanger for 25 cents
- A glasses case for 25 cents (something else my husband's been needing)
- Two pair of boys PJ pants from Gap and Old Navy for 25 cents each
I could have kept going as the weather is beautiful here and the neighborhood garage sales are just beginning, but hunger and work drove me back home.

Great finds! I love the apron and the window is so cool! I am looking forward to doing my garage sales this spring/summer.
Awesome window! Hanging it "as is" would be a cool use of it's austere beauty. I haven't been to a garage sale in ages. You've got me jonesing. One of my garage sale "misses" was when I found the most pornographic antique brass bank. I mean, it was just the most horrid thing you've ever seen - so horrid it was a must have - but Bianca put the kibosh on it since we had little kids at the time. It's for the best I guess, but I do regret not buying it. It may have helped me develop some better savings habits.
My grandparents traveled the world with those garment bags!!
Great bargains! I love the tables. I have been thinking about going to garage sales to look for some garden pots and things so after reading this I am all inspired to get started.
