Yard Sale Finds

Recently I had some time to kill while waiting for my daughter to finish softball practice, so when I noticed a moving sale sign nearby I decided to take a look.

This particular sale was being held by a mother/ daughter team of insurance adjusters who were relocating to Florida. They were literally digging stuff out to sell as the sale was in progress and only about half the items were priced. That, combined with my lack of time, meant I only was able to snag a few things:

  • Three nearly new spray bottles.
  • A nearly new dust pan.
  • A nearly new cleaning caddy.
  • A small, plexi-glass canister that matches the canisters I keep in my pantry.
  • Several white plastic hangers like the ones my daughter uses in her closet.
  • A bag of chip clips.
  • A dozen or so unused brown envelopes in 5x7 and 8x10 sizes.
  • A bunch of (too many to count) brand new folders in fun colors.

I paid $11.50 for my haul and was quite happy. The office supplies were a particular bonus. I keep three sets of books and records - one for us personally, one for my husband's business, and one for another business that pays me to do some administrative work from home. Color coding files is one way I keep it all straight and it was fun to find these files in such unusual colors.

I was doing tolerable well for a while by selling my garage sale finds on ebay.

That is great! I am getting ready for the yard sale season. A girlfriend & I load the kiddos up and make a day of it on Fridays. I can't wait until the weather warms up and we can score some really good finds. It is snowing here still so it might be awhile :)

Enjoy all those art supplies!
