Tackle It Tuesday: Sports Equipment Organizer

  • As part of my efforts to organize and declutter, I am participating in Tackle It Tuesday at 5 Minutes for Mom. The idea is to choose a project and post before and after pictures.

So here it is: proof positive that simply buying a cool organization tool does not guarantee ongoing organization success.

Before

After

Tackle It Tuesday is great motivation. I've had to look at that dusty, cluttered sports organizer every time I pull in and out of the garage. Today I finally did something about it. And here's what was accomplished:

  • Junky, inflatable promotional give-away beach balls are in the trash,
  • A basketball, baseball Hit-Away, and outgrown rollerblades and soccer cleats are ready to be donated on Friday.
  • A tin flower vase is back where it belongs in my pantry.
  • Two tablecloths that my mom gave me are now in my dining room buffet (and I found some never-used rolls of wallpaper border there that I added to the donation box).
  • The ping pong table net is in a bag with our never-used ping pong table that my brother and sister in law have agreed to take off our hands.
  • Muddy tennis shoes have been washed and are now sitting in the sun drying.
  • I watered my pots of mums while I had the hose out cleaning off the organizer.

And the whole thing took only 30 minutes. I'm loving Tackle It Tuesday!

Great job! Isn't it true, though? You buy those organizational goodies with the best of intentions...and then you forget to use them, LOL!

Getting the job done is great when you have a blogging post out of it! Great work there! I found that I have to work really hard at getting all to agree to put things back once I finished my garage. So far so good!

Great job...I totally agree, you buy those things thinking, hey - get it home - set it up and wham it works...unfortunationally it does not work like that huh?

I like the idea. I have a bunch of bins that I bought to organize a few things but I keep putting it off day after day. I don't know when I will get around to organizing it =]
