Works for Me Wednesday: the Chick Toolbox

My husband does most of the heavy lifting around our house. But a while back when we were given a small, red toolbox as part of a promotion I decided to claim it as my own. Thus, my chick toolbox was born.

My shiny red toolbox holds the things that I need on a regular basis. Here are its current contents:

  • a lightweight hammer
  • a cordless screwdriver
  • picture hanging wire and nails
  • touch-up pens for furniture
  • small screwdrivers for changing batteries, etc.
  • a box of nails

It's been the perfect solution! No more digging through his stuff in the garage every time I need to hang a picture, assemble a toy, or perform some small household repair.

Check out Shannon's blog, Rocks in my Dryer, for more great WFMW tips.

Chick toolboxes rock! I also have a stud finder, a tape measure and a pair of pliers in mine. It's all in a plastic caddy with a handle and I can't live without it!

You know, we have doubles of hammer, screwdriver etc. I need to claim some for my own and keep them in the house. Great plan.

I've got a chick toolbox, too! I try to find pretty tools--you know, like ones with flowers on the handle. That way I don't have to worry about anyone taking them. (I seriously doubt my 16-year-old son would be caught dead with a pink screwdriver.)

I asked for one of these a few years ago so I could always find the tools I need when I want them, so they wouldn't get messy/greasy, and so it would just be the tools I used and not a lot of clutter. It was great for a while -- but now it has become the "indoor tool box" (as opposed to the one out in the shed) that everyone uses. And now there is a lot of clutter in there, and a lot of the stuff is messy. :( So I am thinking of making my own with some of those tools with feminine looking handles. :D
