Works for Me Wednesday: Coupon Clutter Control
As a recent coupon convert, I have found that managing coupons is a feat in itself. I was using a small, accordian-type file but found that the number of categories wasn't sufficient. Therefore I'm in the process of converting to this system:
At home I keep a large stash of coupons, sorted by very specific categories. This makes it easy to file and find coupons when I need them.
When the Sunday and Wednesday ads come out, I check sales and plan menus. I can quickly go through my large stash and pull out coupons I want to use.
I then take the coupons I plan to use for that week and put them in the small accordian file by store. The shopping list for that store can go in with them. That file goes into my van and is easy to grab and use when I'm out and about.

I sort my shopping list by store, but not coupons. But, then I hardly use them. If I was as organized as you are about them, I might!
I actually have 3 of those accordian files. One is for food, one for household products and one for 'health and beauty.' I agree--the number of categories you can get in only one isn't very helpful, is it? What I do is take out what I need for a particular store and use a bullclip or paperclip to attach them to my grocery list. I think it's a good idea to keep them in your car, as you do. I'm going to have to add that to my couponing routine!
