Costco Coupons

One of the disadvantages to shopping at warehouse clubs has been that they don’t accept manufacturers’ coupons. And while that is still the case, for the last three months I have received booklets full of store coupons from Costco. In March they were handed to me as I entered the store. In April I received them in the mail and today I received another set for May!

The coupons are only valid for a couple of weeks and some are for high dollar items (computers, TVs) but there are plenty for the run of the mill stuff that I shop for at Costco. The values are good: $2-$3 off items like deoderant, kleenex, cleaning supplies, and coffee. $5-$6 off higher priced items like skin care, teeth whitening systems, & Prilosec. There are even coupons for some Kirkland Signature items. Kirkland is Costco’s house brand and tends to be cheaper anyway.

Costco has started selling a generic version of Proactiv, the skincare system for acne. Proactiv has worked very well for my teenage daughter but the cost (including shipping) for a 2 month supply is $45.90. Costco’s cost for their generic equivalent is $27.99 for twice the amount and there is a May coupon for $8 off. Unfortunately, we are very stocked up on Proactiv so I won’t be taking advantage of it this month but I’ll certainly be giving it a try in the future.

While I’m on the Costco lovefest I’ll point out that last month I wrote about Costco offering individual issues of magazines at a 30% discount. They also have the cheapest gas in my neighborhood. It’s safe to say I’m loving Costco about now!

Related info: You can get a 6% rebate on your Proactiv purchases by going through Mr. Rebates. Registration is free and you will get $5 put in your account just for signing up.

Costco has great coupons!

I also discovered that all of the warehouse clubs (including those that don’t take coupons) will take those coupon checks that you receive in the mail. I get these frequently for formula. Because they are a larger size, you can usually apply two checks to the purchase of your formula.

I had one cashier tell me that he couldn’t, but after I talked to the manager, he just endorsed it like a check!!

Great tips!
